This week has been really unproductive. Partly because my supervisor works on the opposite side of the country and partly because I hate Web based training.

Things are finally leveling out (I think) for me. I wasn’t able to take lunch there for a few days straight with all the incoming tech calls.
Nucking. Futs. I had 88 support voicemails from over the 3 day weekend.
On top of that, I’m the only one that can handle most of these “calls”.

since 6:30am CST
ate my PB&J at 3pm (very quickly because of course I get busy just thinking about lunch).
Spend my last $10 last night so I gotta keep busting ass til the 15th :]

I know what that’s like. Happy to have moved past those days.

It’s got to be about quitting time for you then.
Edit; PB&J sounds good right now.

Started 1.5 hours ago at 7am.
Struggling with doing some time sheet adjustments for the past few months because of billing code changes and THIS STUPID FUCKING SYSTEM IS SO GOD DAMN FUCKING SLOW.
This entire week is a write off. Been babysitting the offshore contingent and their work.

As with most things involving management... they just went and implemented this move that changed everything for me. Not much prior notice and it wasn’t thought out completely. “Oh, we need you to take these calls for this company we have a huge contract with...”
Hoping this gets better.

I think companies use slow machines as sort of a social experiment to see when you’ll finally break.

My work is a mystery to me at the moment. My manager and my supervisor has been moved into a new job, I was supposed to move into a new job at the first of the month as well. But my customer extended my contract for 1 month, and I am hearing all kinds of rumors that range from: they will be extending my work through the end of the year; to nope end of this month your current job is gone. As well several people have been fired, quit, or are on vacation. So basically I am doing a job, with no support from management... well wait, with no management... Period! No idea if I will be doing this work for a few days or a few weeks or a few more months. So yeah it’s total goof of time, every decision I have to make is well if based on the current plan it’s pointless to do this job, so I’m blowing it off... but if the rumors are at all true I better get my manager involved in this, but wait I have no manager to do his part. I guess it’s back to surfing the internet. God I’m gonna have some bad habits when things do finally get straightened out.

I was in a salary job about 10 years ago and my boss told me to stay at home call in in the morning and find out if he has any work for me. It was 15 months of getting up.. calling in, and being told, nope no work, call in tomorrow. Since I was salary, it meant get on my bike and enjoy getting paid to go for a ride. When I called in and he said, yeah tomorrow I need you to go to Stuttgart I died thinking... what work.. but I planed to go into town and hang out drinking beers and people watch again... ohhh god heaven is GONE. Took me 3 years to get back used to working.

I’m assuming you’re in Germany otherwise that’s one hell of a commute.
![]() 09/09/2015 at 19:26 |

I was back then, but sadly not lived there in almost 10 years. Was still a long commute as I was 4 hours drive away... at autobahn speeds.
![]() 09/09/2015 at 19:36 |
|
I wasn’t aware that Germany was large enough to 4 hours away in any direction at autobahn speeds
![]() 09/09/2015 at 19:42 |
|
It’s pretty close in size to the state of Montana, the 4th largest state. And while the route I used to get to Stuttgart avoided most the high traffic areas that make the autobahn not so fast as many people believe, it was still a long tiring drive.

We offshored about 8 months ago, (for the 3rd time - first two attempts ended horribly.) Things aren’t going well yet again - so who do we send over there to kick some sense into people? Our lead sales guy who promptly takes a bunch of vacation tours and publishes a travel blog of the experience. It’s embarrassing - we are a major international financial institution and we look like f’ing morons.
